When are the pools opening?

When are the CHOA Pools Opening?

As you may know, the Governor has limited the use of all public pools in the state during the Phase 1 of the reopening of Oregon. Clackamas County (including Charbonneau) is currently in Phase 1. It is anticipated that Clackamas County will reach Phase 2 in mid to late June. When that milestone is reached, we believe we will be able to open the Pools with new social distancing and sanitary rules.

We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you informed as we know more.

Thanks,

Barry

I don’t see our pools as public.  I have never seen 25 people there at any one time.  This really hurts while kids are not even allowed in a park.  The pool can be safe.

    • Hi Carolyn, we understand and appreciate the frustration around the pool closers. Unfortunately, CHOA falls under the rules and regulations of Clackamas County and the State. Until the Governor approves pools to be open, we can’t open them whether we agree personally with her direction or not. Thank you for your comment.

It’s time to open up our pools.  Maybe it is time to remind our Governor that we are adults, and we are a free and independent people who make choices all the time.  We chose to stay home, we chose to social distance, we chose to shut down our businesses.  We should be able to choose whether or not we want to take the risk to go to our neighborhood pool.  In the last few days we have seen thousands of people take to the streets in protest, willing to take the risk of gathering together in large groups, they were allowed to do so.  I just heard that LA fitness is opening Wednesday and we might have to wait til end of June?  I protest.

    • Hi Janette, thank you for taking the time to submit a comment. We understand and appreciate your frustration with the pools remaining closed. Unfortunately, CHOA falls under the rules of Clackamas County that the Governor has issued and we have to follow them. I realize this doesn’t help, but it is where we are right now. Thank you.
