Charbonneau Country Club has retained the services of BerryDunn, LLC, a national parks, recreation, and libraires consulting firm to assist us with a plan to reimagine Edith Green Park, a 2-acre park located on Country View Lane here in Charbonneau. The Plan will determine the current and future needs and desires for the Edith Green Park based on resident input.
Below is a link for a survey to collect your opinion:

  1. I would like to leave Edith Green Park as it is. At the present time it is so relaxing to sit on the benches and look past the basketball court onto the tranquil farm land and larges trees on Miley Road. If you build an ugly chain link fence for 4 pickle ball courts and then put padding on those courts to squelch the 75 decibel noise coming from those courts, it would be identical to looking at graffiti to me. Finally, pickle ball was invested in 1965 and the only reason it became popular was due to the pandemic. With the pandemic coming to a close, the “sport”will once again fall into oblivion where it spent the previous 57 years. Per the Villager article, only 100 out of the 3500 residents of Charbonneau play the game. That is only a minuscule 2.8% of our neighbors using the court. Let’s not invest into an ugly fad for the benefit of a few and to the detriment of the many who currently utilize the park, especially with our grandkids.
