OLD BUSINESS

Additions to Rec Hall rental agreement
The draft agreement was approved with thanks to Doug for his work on it. A question
arose around when we should deal with opening the Rec Hall. The board decided to
defer a decision until we can develop protocols to deal with Covid 19. Doug asked the
board for suggestions about what the fees should be for use of the Rec Hall. There was
consensus that we should not charge for a purely personal event, but for other events
such as classes there should be a fee. Karen thought perhaps there should be a sliding
fee depending on number of days of use. Barry wondered about allowing meetings of
political or controversial groups. After discussion Doug suggested we consider using
the same policies as the CCC but charge a slightly lower fee. Doug moved that the pool
committee be given the responsibility of recommending policies regarding who may use
the facility and what the fees should be. They will also make final decisions regarding
who may use the facilities. Karen Miller and Sally Brallier will be invited to join the
committee too. The pool committee will also come back to the board with a
recommendation regarding charging fees. Ken seconded the motion and it was
approved.
Bathroom Remodel
The project is almost 100% complete. Steve has just a couple small things he wants
improved or finished. The group liked Sally’s ideas for decorating the bathroom and
agreed she should move forward with purchasing artwork as long as it relates to Oregon
and not California or other states.

Retention of Files
Barry said he would create a checklist and a dropbox. He will invite board members to place
documents into the dropbox that they believe are important for the organization to keep. The
board also asked Steve to check into the cost of purchasing one or two fireproof filing cabinets
for hard copies of documents currently in existence.
Reserve Study
Will discuss at July meeting.
Janet reminded us that cracks in the sidewalk must not be more than 1⁄4 inch.
Public Parking signage
In 2008 the City stated we could continue to monitor the parking areas. Verbal communications
with City officials have been inconsistent since then. The board discussed putting up signs that
say “Guest Parking Only” on all public parking places. Steve said we have around 36 individual
spaces. Barry asked Steve to purchase five signs and put them in the areas where we have
had the most problems. We will decide later whether or not to purchase more signs.
Safety
Some people have wondered if should we should have a more active neighborhood watch
program. We will continue to monitor the need and decide whether or not to become more
involved in promoting a watch. Ken wondered if we should call on our Emergency
Preparedness Committee to provide input on this question. Barry will talk with Eric Hoem about
how his committee may be of assistance. He may also send out an email asking for volunteers.
NEW BUSINESS
Alarm systems across CHOA- review options
More information will be forthcoming at the July meeting.
Committee Updates
Packard reported we are awaiting instructions from Clackamas County regarding
opening pools. Steve stated that the County still does not qualify for stage 2 opening.
We cannot apply until the county meets the qualifications. Steve is working on pool
signage and cleaning procedures related to pool use. Parkard requested a zoom
meeting once we get direction from the County and State so we can finalize our policies
and procedures.
Karen described the latest projects. She’s getting good feedback on the work so far.
Steve reminded us that feeding any wildlife is against the rules. Squirrels are a
particular problem because they destroy sprinklers. Barry will prepare a website
reminder to residents about the policies and explain why it is not okay to feed wildlife.
Janet had nothing to report from the welcoming committee. People are reluctant to get
together right now because of Covid.
Monthly Newsletter
Janet suggested that all board members could submit ideas to Robin for the website.
Villager articles
Barry asked about the value of submitting articles from CHOA. Janet suggested giving
information about new board members and Barry will write up pieces about Robin and
Ken.
